A short, focused release: Claude Fable 5 is now available in Conol.
Claude Fable 5 is now available
Why. Fable 5 is one of Anthropic's most capable reasoning models, but access to it was restricted after launch — it showed up in the model list, yet actually trying to use it wasn't possible. That access has now fully opened up, so we've turned it on for everyone. Fable 5 pairs strong step-by-step reasoning with a 1M-token context window, which makes it a great fit for long, involved sessions: deep research, multi-step tasks, and working over large documents or codebases without losing the thread.
How to use it. Open the model picker at the top of any chat and choose Claude Fable 5. The switch applies immediately — even mid-conversation — so you can start on your usual model and move to Fable 5 when a task calls for heavier reasoning, without losing your context. The model you pick is remembered for that chat.
Tip
Fable 5 is a reasoning model with a 1M-token context window, priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. For everyday chats a lighter model is often plenty; reach for Fable 5 when a task genuinely benefits from deeper reasoning or a very large amount of context.
